MAY.19.2012 - New Techniques

It's been a while since my last post, I was trying to get a band up and running and working with a friend on a writing a TV show pilot. Both of those projects crashed and I learned a valuable lesson, I need to focus on something that only depends on me. I think taking concept art more seriously is my best bet to do something I enjoy with my life. So I'll be committing to this until I succeed.

So I was watching a speed painting by Axel Torvenius and was very inspired by his techniques. Today I decided to commit to doing a 20 minute speed painting at least every other day. I started today drawing the posted image which was sketched in 20 min but I enjoyed it so much I had to keep going. It took me roughly six hours to complete.

In the next few days I will be unemployed for the summer (school bus driving). I'm pretty excited about this. I'll be dedicating a great deal of time to painting, looking for a job involving drawing, my secret project, entering art contests, and whatever else I've had on hold.
